Additional and Local information.
Shorebased Courses are held on a day basis and start at 9-15am to 5-15pm. Although sometimes longer, as and when required. A half hour break is at lunchtime. These are intensive in nature. Pupil teacher ratio maximum 4:1. Supplied in the course fee; manuals, the RYA Course packs, pen, 2b pencil (soft for Chart work), eraser, small lined pocket book, full colour tuition handouts, coffee, tea, biscuits, and soft mineral water. Also available on loan are parallel rules, single hand dividers, Breton plotters, Admiralty Charts and Admiralty Abbreviations Chart 5011. Available to purchase are most RYA publications, Lights and shapes flip cards, Chart 5011, and several other books. Lunches and evening meals are available at the two excellent local pubs within a 2-minute walk. There are three bed breakfast accommodations within a 3-minute walk. This can be arranged when booking your course. Location. The magnificent and picturesque Chichester Harbour an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is only 1 minute’s walk away. Home to over 10,000 boats and yachts, a true sailing Mecca. The historic holiday destination City of Chichester is only a 5-minute drive away (20 minute walk) with all its tourist and cultural activities. Dozens of pubs restaurants and places to visit. Local train service Chichester [Southbourne] and the 700-bus service (half hourly) Brighton to Portsmouth, all places in between. Directions. See the enclosed separate map for the teaching location which is just South of the A27 near Chichester (off the Tesco roundabout). Nearest Railway station is Fishbourne 10 minutes walk. Nearest bus stop outside the Woolpack Pub Fishbourne, 2 minutes walk.
